the song is actually about Phil Collins divorce not the urban myth about his brother drowning and a friend stoodby watching and let him die
Can someone please explain to me what this song is about? cheating lol??
I think ya'll gotta remember Sonny Crocket[sic] and Miami Vice to appreciate this song.
sorry for your loss, but have you ever heard of periods? or sentences?
This song came out while my dear ol dad was in hospital dying I am glad he passed rather than suffer more comforted by knowing his spirit lives on and one day we will see each other again but sure brings that sorryfull memory back loud and clear well we all must die at some point
greenshit sucks
this video seems like it was influcened by mescaline, in my opinion and perception because of the shaman drum beat, and the bright visual colours in the video
yes your right if you look closely you can see water in the back ground
i think its about phil saw someone watch someone drown and they could have saved the person
maybe your mother sucks
THIS SONG SUCKS!!
an artist dosnt actually have to experience something to write a song
It was so funny when Stewie sang it on Family guy lol
"so stranger to you and me! BA BA BA BA BA BA BA BABANG BAANG!"!!!!!!!!!
But they're really cool urban legends.
your right sorry... thats just what i was told.. well anyone would make for some messed up story. my bad
The meaning behind any song is up to the listener, perception is vital
I'm sorry but this song is not about drowning in any sort. Collins himself does not know the meaning behind the song. The only thing that people know is that he was going through a recent divorce when the song was written. All of the strange stories behind this song are all urban legends.
DUGUN DUGUN DUGUN DUGUN DUGUN DUGUDGU!
this song is awesome
This fit well, in the Miami Vice, TV show.
Phil married/divorced 3 times. Money is a CURSE??
phil is the greatest. btw ameriebXbabie i had no idea it was about that..... anyway good music vid and great song
I feel the same way. A few bad artists can't kill culture that's 30+ yrs old that we live in everyday. Anyway Phil is great and this song is epic.
i love this song but i was so sad when i heard why he wrote it. his friend was drowning and phil called out to a guy standing nearby for help. the guy just stood and wached. didnt help at all.. his freind died and when phil was older he found out who the huy was and he invited him to a concert and put the spot light on him and sang that song.... thats freakin sad
