wat he does is he uses pinch harmonics and bends the strings(vibrato) to make that whammy effect

The thing Zakk Wylde does wich maybe could sound a bit like "whammyish", must be hes pinch harmonics combined with vibratos. But to get that sound that Zakk makes, you have to be very good at it.
